Hi, I’m so glad you’re here!

My name is Kari Natwick, and I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and an Integrative and Functional Nutrition Certified Practitioner (IFNCP). I serve individuals who struggle with chronic digestive complaints such as bloating, constipation, diarrhea, gas, reflux and abdominal pain.  These symptoms often accompany a diagnosis of digestive disorders such as IBS, SIBO, Ulcerative Colitis, Celiac Disease, GERD, and Eosinophilic Esophagitis. I also serve individuals who struggle with disordered eating and Binge Eating Disorder. I do so through the incorporation of intuitive eating principles and mindfulness-based techniques.

If you can’t tell, I have a serious passion for serving people and guiding them into optimal health.

This field of work is so important to me, since I have personally had numerous health challenges in my life including an autoimmune thyroid disorder, digestive dysfunction, and toxic burden from mold. In conjunction with this, I have had to learn to manage high levels of stress and makes changes in my life in order to create a work life balance that promotes wellness. When it comes to doing the hard work to optimize your health, well… let’s just say, I’ve been there.

Kari Natwick Nutrition, LLC started after I moved from Alaska to Oregon. I wanted to work with people around their gut issues and relationship with food using Integrative and Functional Nutrition, functional lab testing, and working with them on their whole being.

I want my clients to feel empowered, confident, hopeful, joyous, comfortable, safe, cared for, invested in, like someone has their back and is going to work hard for them and alongside them to heal. I absolutely love seeing people’s lives transform when they heal their gut, change their relationship with food, regain energy, and take back their life! Getting to be their guide on a transformation from feeling distressed, anxious, and horrible to hopeful, empowered, and well fuels me every day.

I care deeply about the people I work with.  I am invested in them and do anything I can to help them discover the root causes of their health issues or disordered relationship with food, and I want people to experience the powerful transformation from where they are to the place where they are living a vibrant and productive life.

The truth is, when people take charge of their gut health and their relationship with food, they get so much more than feeling better. They get their lives back! It is truly a gift for me to be a guide alongside my patients in this journey.

Besides my love of helping my clients, I love all things nature and the great outdoors. I grew up on 600 acres in rural Minnesota, and since then, I have lived in so many beautiful places throughout the west including Northern California and Washington. The place that owns my heart is Alaska after living on and off there for over 20 years. In 2018 I moved to Lake Oswego, Oregon to pursue an incredible educational opportunity for my son who has dyslexia. My husband still lives in Juneau, AK, and therefore I still remain very connected to this community.

When I’m not working, you can find me reading books – I love to research, learn, and discover.  I own so many books that I still haven’t read, but, oh well, one day… and of course being outdoors and in nature. Hiking, backpacking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, paddle boarding, canoeing, and kayaking -- if it’s tied to adventure or travel, I’m there!

I also love to explore new culinary endeavors. Cooking comes very easily and naturally for me and I rarely use recipes. It’s a way to connect with everything around you. In fact, I am a master gardener, with an emphasis on vegetable gardening. The love of caring for land and growing my own food is something that is woven into my DNA.
